Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you do one on one dog walking? 

A: Yes! We specialise in one on one dog walking. This enables us to cater for all types of dogs, tailor the services to meet their specific needs, maintain any training and ensures they get the one on one attention they deserve! If you would like for your dog to be socialised during their walk, lets have a chat we can organise this for you. 

Q: Do you do group walks?

A: Yes. However, we currently only provide small group adventures services within the eastern suburbs.

Alternatively, we can also organise Buddy Walks: where your dog is buddied up with another clients dog to share a walk together (ideal for dogs who prefer to socialise one on one with another dog, rather than in a group setting).

(Please note, both group adventures and buddy walks are subject to availability as well as the nature of how each dog interacts with one another)

Q: My dog doesn't do well in cars, do you drive to certain locations for the walks?

A: For Group Adventures and Buddy walks: yes the walker will require to pick your dog up and drive them to collect their other furry friends, so that they can all enjoy their park/beach adventure together.

For one on one walks: Unless specifically requested, our walkers will never need to take your dog in their car. Walkers simply pick up your dog from your house and walk them locally around your neighbourhood. If you have a specific walking route or dog park you would prefer the walker to take your dog to, you can request this.

Q: What if a 1 hour dog walk isn't suitable for my dog?

A: Contact us today and we can help create a service tailored to your dog needs. Wether that be a shorter or longer walk, or we can also break up the hour to use some of the time for walking, and the rest of the time for enriching play, practicing tricks/training etc.

Q: What happens if it is raining?

All our services including dog walking will always go ahead rain or shine (unless weather deemed unsafe). If you do not wish for your dog to be walked in the rain, the wet-weather alternative is providing indoor enriching play at your home for the duration of the booking. If you would prefer to cancel your booking instead, please ensure you have canceled 24hrs prior to the walk via your group chat with your walker. If you cancel within the 24hrs, the cancelation fee applies.

Q: Does pet sitting and house visits include dog walking?

A: Yes they can! We tailor these services to meet the needs of you and your pets. These services can include walks, play, feed/water, change cat litter/puppy pee pads, administering medication etc.  

Q: Can I meet the walker/sitter before hiring them?

A: Definitely! It is recommended to have a scroll through our team members on the Meet the Team Page and organise a free Meet & Greet so that you can ensure they are the right fit for you and your pet.

Q: Im not sure which sitter/walker is right for me and my pet! Who do I pick?

A: Book a Discovery Call today and we can help connect you with an appropriate pet carer to suit you and your pets needs.

Q: I don't feel comfortable having a sitter stay at my home, do you do pet boarding instead?

A: We have sitters who are available to either stay at your home or to host your pet at their home. Fill out our contact form below and let us know what dates you're needing your pet looked after and we can let you know what sitters we have available.

Q: How do I make a booking?

A: Simply head over to our Services page and click on the service you need. This will direct you to our booking system PetBoost and you can request a booking here for  meet and greets, dog walks and house visits. Any recurring bookings, bulk bookings or overnight pet sits will need to be requested directly via our manager. Contact us today and we can organise these bookings for you with the appropriate carer.

You will be notified via text once the walker/sitter has confirmed the booking.

(Please note, no bookings are confirmed until the SSPC team has spoken with you to confirm your booking)

Q: How do I pay? 

A: All Payments are made online via the booking system PetBoost (More info regarding payments in our T&Cs).

Q: I've made a booking via PetBoost, what's next ?

A: You will receive a confirmation via text once the walker/sitter has been confirmed for your booking. Then our manager will connect you with your walker/sitter via a WhatsApp group chat. This chat will be used by the walker/sitter to communicate all things regarding your bookings, send photos, videos and updates during the service with your pet.

Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?

A: This varies between services: 

For Dog Walking, Dog Day Care or House Visit Services:

You need to give at least 24hrs written notice of cancelation/ reschedule prior to commencement of service via the group chat with your walker and manager.

Less than 24hrs notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a

cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the booked service.

Wet-Weather Policy:

Hot-Weather Policy:

High temperatures are dangerous to a dog's health. In cases of the temperature being too high on the day of your booking, your walker will reach out to confirm a suitable alternative (e.g. quick toilet break then indoor enrichment play/ practice training) to ensure your dog still has their daily needs met and is tired and satisfied after the booking. If you would prefer to cancel your booking instead, please ensure you have provided written notice of cancelation 24hrs prior to the walk via the group chat with the walker and manager. If you cancel within the 24hrs of your booking, the cancelation fee applies of 100% of the value of the booked service.

For Pet Sitting Services:

For pet sits of less than 7 days - At least 48hrs written notice prior to commencement of service, will result in refund/ no charge. Less than 48hrs notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the booked service and any associated booking fees and charges if applicable.

​

For pet sits of 7 days or more - A non-refundable deposit must be made of $100 at the time of booking in order to confirm your booking (this deposit will be deducted out of your total booking fee once the booking commences). Written notice of cancelation at least 7 days prior to commencement of service, will result in no further charge. Less than 7 days notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the first week of the pet sit.

Please be mindful that sitters make plans and living arrangements around these pet sit bookings and turn down other work to ensure their available for you and your pet.
