Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you do group walks?

A: No, Sydney Side Pet Care currently only provides one on one dog walking services. This enables us to cater for all types of dogs, tailor the services to meet their specific needs, maintain any training and ensures they get the one on one attention they deserve! If you would prefer your dog to be socialised in a group setting, we can organise the walker to take your dog to a local dog park.

Q: My dog doesn't do well in cars, do you drive to certain locations for the walks?

A: Unless specifically requested, our walkers will never take your dog in their car. Walkers simply pick up your dog from your house and walk them locally around your neighbourhood. If you have a specific walking route or dog park you would prefer the walker to take your dog to, you can request this.

Q: What if a 1 hour dog walk isn't suitable for my dog?

A: Book a Discovery Call today and we can help create a service tailored to your dog needs. Wether that be a shorter or longer walk, or we can also break up the hour to use some of the time for walking, and the rest of the time for enriching play, practicing tricks/training etc.

Q: What happens if it is raining?

All our services including dog walking will always go ahead rain or shine (unless weather deemed unsafe). If you do not wish for your dog to be walked in the rain, the wet-weather alternative is providing indoor enriching play at your home for the duration of the booking. If you would prefer to cancel your booking instead, please ensure you have canceled 24hrs prior to the walk via your group chat with your walker. If you cancel within the 24hrs, the cancelation fee applies.

Q: Does pet sitting and house visits include dog walking?

A: Yes they can! We tailor these services to meet the needs of you and your pets. These services can include walks, play, feed/water, change cat litter/puppy pee pads, administering medication etc.  

 

Q: Can I meet the walker/sitter before hiring them?

A: Definitely! It is recommended to have a scroll through our team members on the Meet the Team Page and organise a free Meet & Greet so that you can ensure they are the right fit for you and your pet.

Q: Im not sure which sitter/walker is right for me and my pet! Who do I pick?

A: Book a Discovery Call today and we can help connect you with an appropriate pet carer to suit you and your pets needs.

Q: I don't feel comfortable having a sitter stay at my home, do you do pet boarding instead?

A: We have sitters who are available to either stay at your home or to host your pet at their home. Fill out our contact form below and let us know what dates you're needing your pet looked after and we can let you know what sitters we have available.

 

Q: How do I make a booking?

A: Simply head over to our Services page and click on the service you want to book. Single bookings can be booked via self service (e.g. Discovery calls, meet and greets, dog walks and house visits). Any recurring bookings, bulk bookings or overnight pet sits will need to be manually booked in by Claudia. Contact us today and Claudia can organise these bookings for you with the appropriate carer.

You will be notified via text/email once the walker/sitter has confirmed the booking.

Q: How do I pay? 

A: All Payments are made online via the booking system (More info regarding payments in our T&Cs).

Q: I've made a booking, what's next ?

A: You will receive a confirmation via text once the walker/sitter has confirmed the booking. Then Claudia will connect you with your walker/sitter via a WhatsApp group chat. This chat will be used by the walker/sitter to communicate all things regarding your bookings, send photos, videos and updates during the service with your pet.

Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?

A: This varies between services: 
For Dog Walking, Dog Day Care or House Visit Services:
You need to give at least 24hrs written notice of cancelation/ reschedule prior to commencement of service to avoid cancellation fee via the group chat with your walker and Claudia
Less than 24hrs notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a
cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the booked service.

Wet-Weather Policy:

For Pet Sitting Services:
For pet sits of less than 7 days - At least 48hrs written notice prior to commencement of service, will result in refund/ no charge. Less than 48hrs notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the booked service and any associated booking fees and charges if applicable.
​
For pet sits of 7 days or more - A non-refundable deposit must be made of $100 at the time of booking in order to confirm your booking (this deposit will be deducted out of your total booking fee once the booking commences). Written notice of cancelation at least 7 days prior to commencement of service, will result in no further charge. Less than 7 days notice prior to commencement of service, the customer is liable for a cancellation fee of 100% of the value of the first week of the pet sit.

Please be mindful that sitters make plans and living arrangements around these pet sit bookings and turn down other work to ensure their available for you and your pet.
